Blue Tunes - All Hail the Power of the Cloud

“Taking your music to the cloud”, that is BlueTunes.net's slogan and it speaks to the simple, yet brilliant, idea behind the site; to enable users to listen to their music anywhere they are (provided they have high speed internet access). The instructions are easy; sign up, log in, upload your music to their site, and you can listen to it wherever you are... that’s it. All hail the power of the cloud.

BlueTunes is obviously the next step in the “music liberation” movement, Muxtape having been recently shut down, and will no doubt get some attention from the music labels/RIAA. It might get shut down permanently like Napster, ‘temporarily’ a la Muxtape, or not at all because it doesn’t outwardly promote sharing by downloading; the important thing is that innovation keeps on keeping on, so enjoy the service while you can and let’s see what happens.
